Superheros Produce Superpower

I agree Reading is a Modern Superpower and it is important for writers to read if they want what they write to be significant. Granted there is an unbelievable quantity of writing to be read and the cyber geeks are trying to make hard bound real books with dedications, introductions and prologues obsolete. These are those who prefer their reading material to all be digital. Some people are saying that libraries are relics of the past and real books are on the way out. I don’t know about anyone else but I feel safer about the longevity of the written word when there are multiple copies in print on paper and preferably hard bound, but at least in paperback form. When I read a book I do not discard it like a used paper towel. At the very least I pass it along to a friend, but usually I put it on my book shelves. I have 3-1/2 tons of books, and I have read or used about 1/3 of them and at least started or skimmed the other 2/3’s. To me a book is like an old friend. I like to dog ear special corners where gems of thought are written. I also like to highlight or underline passages and make notes in the margins. For this reason while I was attending College I always tried to get used text books so I could see what previous students had noted. This is why I agree with James Radcliffe that Reading is a Modern Superpower; however we would have nothing to read if we didn’t have writers. And if we don’t have the hard copies of our books what will happen if someone pulls the plug on on our digital databases and eBooks.

I believe there are writers born every second somewhere in the world. It is because of these writers that we have more good stuff to read than one person could possibly read in one lifetime. Because of this good stuff that we have to read, the world will never succumb to iniquity and the right will always prevail over evil. For this reason I declare good writer’s the superheroes that produce the superpower of the world

About bmwillson1936

I was born with writer's DNA, but it receded to the depths of my soul when I encountered the bitter facts of life.Much later after five decades of living I was assigned by my employer to write legal conveyances of land documents, and this drew out my natural love of words and putting ideas into the paper prison. Thus began my quest for publication. The road was long and bumpy, with occasional pitfalls, but I'm staying on until I can no longer put words on the paper that make any sense or serve no valid purpose. Here's to rebirth and the celebration of writing

Sadly, I can imagine the possibility of across-the-board deletion of ebooks, while it is difficult to believe all hard-copy editions could be destroyed.
